WRITERS HELPING WRITERS®

Helping writers become bestselling authors

Winning is So Awesome

June 2, 2009 by BECCA PUGLISI

I tell you, there’s nothing better than coming home from a long-overdue workout to find out something great has happened. There I was, chugging water and doing some quick moderation stuff over at The Critique Circle when I got a friendly ping from Tabitha Olson to stop by her blog. And guess what?

I won this:

I know, SO COOL, right? I’ve been looking forward to this book ever since reading C.K.Kelly Martin’s I Know It’s Over, which is a beautifully told story told from the Male’s point of view, dealing with the raw emotions of a relationship ending, even when you don’t want it to. One Lonely Degree promises to be just as compelling as Kelly’s debut novel, so I’m very excited to get it in my hot little hands.

Tabitha at Writer Musings is randomly drawing books every month at her blog, and for the month of June, she’s handing out four books. The contest will start Saturday, June 6th, when she will unveil the titles, so make sure you get in on it!

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever won?

    Congratulations!

    Won… hmmm.

I could say a trip to Cancun but really I earned it with my company.

Won. I’m sure I’ve won stuff but I can’t really think of anything other than a free ticket or $10 on lotto.

I won the book you gave away and THAT was cool.

Oh, I’ve won some door prizes like framed pictures and such.

Nothing like a car or a great big trip though.

I LOVE THIS BOOK. I love it so much. It is hands down one of my fav YA books this year. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it. Congrats on the win!

The coolest thing I’ve ever won has to be the Teriffic Kids medal back in grade school. It made me feel so ~smug~.

Congrats! I’m loving your blog, so glad you stopped by mine so I could find you:)

The coolest thing I ever won was Tim Tharp’s ‘The Spectacular Now’ — from Tabitha! I’m one of those people who gamely buys lottery tickets but NEVER WINS ANYTHING, so this was especially wonderful for me — and it was a great book. I’m looking forward to reading ‘One Lonely Degree’ too…

Thanks everyone! I love books, so it’s so great to win one. 🙂

Parakeva–not cheeky at all. I’ll look at my Google Analytics data and get back to you. However I can say with certainty that lots of people use the Setting Thesaurus for Forests and Deserts. I see those ping a lot in the stats.

Congrats on winning. I also enjoy winning books here and there, particularly since I seemed to get exposed to authors I wouldn’t otherwise know. Great stuff.

    Congratulations!!!

The only thing I’ve ever won was a book called “best intentions” by Emily Listfield. It hasn’t come yet. And it’s been a month. I told the lady of the giveaway (apparently she’s not responsible because all she was supposed to do was tell the publishing company and they’d send it to me) but I haven’t gotten it yet.

Apparently people do fall for those things… otherwise the spam industry wouldn’t be going so strong XD

    Heya again!
If it’s not being unnecessarily cheeky, I was wondering which are your most popular posts in each section… as in, are people more interested in a sports stand or a jungle? Confused or excited? Yellow or bumpy?
I’m curious, I’m not sure why but I am! Thank youuu x

Oh Yay! Congrats! I love winning books. My first book won ever was Camy Tang’s Only Uni.
But coolest thing won… hmm, I’ll have to think about that.

Best thing I’ve ever won? I don’t think I’ve actually won an item… though we still have the trophy from last year’s Championships in the band room. 🙂

A gift voucher for B&N from Lotusgirl! (The other week!) My book should arrive in the next few days. Yay!

It is the season for winning things!
