Time to check in on Day 3 of the Writers Helping Writers AMAZING RACE, where Becca, myself and a host of incredibly generous folks are priming writerly engines with M & Ms, coffee, licorice, Dr. Pepper and anything else we can get our hands on to keep our fingers flying across the keyboard.
We are on a mission to help, and to date, we’ve managed to assist over 150 writers by critiquing pitches, queries, first pages, answering publishing -related questions and so much more. (WAY TO GO, RACERS!)
I’d like to show off a few more books today from authors in our writing community! Some great covers and plot lines, if I do say so myself–please check them out!

Thank you ladies and all of your selfless volunteers. You astound me with your awesomeness. 🙂
Hi Angela and Becca
WHW truly appears as a great website for writers and I appreciate all the efforts you have done. I sent my entry in WHW Amazing Race for critique on Day 1. But I haven’t received any alert or reply yet. Neither do I see it posted somewhere here. I wish to know if my entry was discarded for some reasons. Wishing you all the best.
Xander
Hi Xander,
Some of our celebrity racers took on several critiques at once, so it could be your work is with one of them. Alternatively, it could still be waiting for a fit or if there was no contact information or the contact information was incorrect on the form, then contact wouldn’t have been made. (not saying this is the case for you, only that a few people did not put email addresses in or the information was incorrect.)
Hi Angela
I received the the critique for my first page yesterday. Thank you. Susanne Lakin critiqued it for me, and she was awesome. It was very helpful. I really appreciate you and your team. 🙂 I wish grand success to your mission.
The WHR is truly “Amazing.” One of your participating writers, Daryl Ouellette, critiqued my first page and gave me useful suggestions, which strengthened the first page.
Thank you so much!
You guys are doing a wonderful service to your fellow writers and I can’t thank you enough. I had my first paragraph and first page critiqued by Candice Robinson. Not only did she make my head double in size, but she also pointed out things words that didn’t fit in my opening scene. Again, thank you all!!!
Thanks everyone for participating–both Racers & Writers willing to share their work and questions! @Heather, it is such a rush to help people, whether you know them or not, and I have been getting lots of feedback from writers who are so thrilled to get feedback from Racers. You guys are doing a good thing, and I thank you so much for giving your time like this! 🙂
Yay! Congrats to all the authors mentioned. And yes the race is awesome. Every writer is so grateful. And it’s just another way to connect and make more friends!
Great idea ladies!
The workshop sounds fantastic. I’ll have to see if I can work it into my schedule. Really like those peacocks on the button too. 🙂
I’m getting wonderful feedback from the advice that I’m giving out. Makes me feel like a rock star.
I guess we are all helping each other.
Heather
Thanks for posting my book!
