Helping writers become bestselling authors

The Next Thesaurus Book Is Coming…And You Could Win An ARC!

January 12, 2019 by ANGELA ACKERMAN

Oh my gosh, it’s almost time for us to share what the next description thesaurus book in our collection will be, and we CAN’T WAIT. The official cover reveal will be on January 21st and we hope you will join us here at the blog. Who knows, this book might just become your new favorite volume in our WHW series!

While we wait for the big cover reveal, we created this redacted one.

REDACTED: to select or adapt (as by obscuring or removing sensitive information) for publication or release broadly.

What’s with all the mystery?

People are wondering why we haven’t talked about this book and what area of description it will help writers with. Well, this is a special book so we wanted to give it a special launch. Plus, we’ve somehow managed to keep this book’s topic a secret for an entire year, so we thought we’d follow it through. What could be more fun than offering our wonderful readers a surprise book?

Fun facts about the *REDACTED* Thesaurus:

  • It has more entries than any other thesaurus volume to date (131)
  • It features a brand new style of cover (we love it!)
  • Becca and I spent the last year writing it in secret
  • We’ve already sold translation rights to a publisher in Korea
  • Our Street Team knows what the book is and they are going bonkers with excitement
  • And finally, YOU could win a copy before it releases! Giveaway has ended, thanks for entering, everyone!

This book hits the shelves February 19th, but you could win yourself an ARC just by leaving a comment on this post!

10 digital Arcs are up for grabs (open internationally).

Full legal disclaimers can be found here.

Winners have been notified by email, so watch your inboxes!

Dang! What could this thesaurus be?
I am hoping it’s the occupational thesaurus, but with you saying it’s been done in secret, probably not.
Could it be a thesaurus about cities and countries?
Could it be a thesaurus related to a specific genre?
A thesaurus based on physical appearance?
Or maybe a food and drink thesaurus?
I can’t wait for this ARC to be revealed! How exciting! Thank you for the opportunity!

I am thrilled about your upcoming release.

Thinking back to the days of the Bookshelf Muse when there was a copy/paste list of emotions which I devoured again and again so I could improve the ways I expressed what I wanted to say. The first one then grew into a book series (of which I have them all).

And now, there is a burst of joy each time you brought a new book to the lonely world of writers. You have done so much for my writing, I am grateful and counting down the days…to the new release.

I have all your books and use them frequently. In my first draft, when I’m on a roll writing but I know I’m missing something, I’ll even put notes that says thesaurus to remind myself I need inspirations for more details. My story set in Vegas went from meh to amazing thanks to your section on casinos and I even had people comment that they felt like they’d been to Vegas.

While I’m dying to know what the topic is, it won’t matter because I’ll be getting and reading the book. I’m downsizing this year but all you books go on the keeper shelf because I don’t want to write without them. In not Konmaring, but I did read the book and you thesauruses all spark joy. They make me happy every time I easily look up the information I want and especially when I find the inspiration I didn’t know I needed.

Thank you for these amazing resources. Im super excited about the next book.

Your Emotional Wound Thesaurus was a game changer for me in how I develop my characters. If I could keep only one book on my shelf for creating characters, it would be this one. That book led me The Postive Trait Thesaurus, which I’m utilizing backward; the list of associated behaviors and negative traits help me give the wound even more depth. Can’t wait to see what the new book contains!

P.S. How can I get on your street team?

I’d love to win since I own every thesaurus you’ve already released (printed versions), and I need my set to be complete. 🙂 My go-to gift to friends in my writing group has been your Emotional Wounds Thesaurus. (They all love and use the Emotion Thesaurus but didn’t seem aware of the others.) I’ll be buying the printed version of the new release regardless, as I find them super-easy to navigate through. Keep’em coming. And thanks.

Your thesaurus on emotions has been a huge help to me, and I have a feeling this one is gonna be even better. (It’s gotta live up to the hype, right?)
