Helping writers become bestselling authors

2021 Advent Prize: First Chapter Edit (Fawkes Editing)

Today’s Giveaway

Professional editing isn’t a nicety for today’s author…it’s an absolute necessity.

Editor September C. Fawkes is awarding one lucky winner a first chapter edit (up to 3,000 words, prologues welcome), with the goal of helping take it to the next level.

September will be doing both a content edit and a line edit, focusing on weaknesses and strengths, and giving you ideas on how to improve on each. She is happy to keep an eye out for anything in particular you may be worried about. (This prize valued at $115.)

A bit about September:

As an editor, I have read literally tens of thousands of story openings. I have seen the clichés and the most common pitfalls, as well as powerful hooks and riveting concepts. I have been working in the industry for over seven years and have edited for both award-winning and best-selling writers.

“I loved the feedback you gave me. It was really thorough and encouraging, and that’s a rare thing.” – Loretta Torossian, YA writer, represented by Paula Munier of Talcott Notch Literary Services

“I ask her to look over just about everything that I send out for publication.” – David Farland, New York Times best-selling, award-winning author

For more information about September, her services, and additional testimonials visit Fawkes Editing.

Awesome contest! As a former editor, I’m awfully picky about editors, but this sounds like a fabulous way to give Fawkes Editing a try! Thanks for the chance!
