If there’s one thing authors know, it’s the value of help. We all wear hats–so many hats!–to match the roles of this job: writer, researcher, marketer, strategist, business manager, accountant, promoter, networker, website guru, problem solver, and more. It’s…a lot. Too much for one person, or even two, as Becca and I can attest.

As often happens in life, change came along, and we found ourselves needing a new blog coordinator. And the universe smiled on us and brought us Julie Glover!

Julie has been around the block, kids. She’s published award-winning fiction and non-fiction, served as the president and conference chair for a romance organisation, co-hosted writing retreats, run her own podcast, hosted a popular writing blog, taught workshops, edited professionally, and more.

She’s also a Resident Writing Coach here, too! I’m so excited about this because I’ve been in her workshops, and Julie has a great mind for story and the psychology & personality that will drive a character’s choices and behaviors.

Julie, Becca, and I have known each other for a long time, enough for me to also spill the tea that she’s a great singer and she is rather obsessively passionate about cowboy boots. (She is a Texan, after all.)

And yes, I brought receipts:

Julie showed up in style at this Midlands Writers’ Conference!

(As you can see, writers get into some shenanigans at these conferences and retreats!)

We are thrilled to have Julie on the WHW team and for you to get to know her over the coming weeks. She’s no stranger to working with others, as she’s co-written quite a few books with past RWC Christina Delay. (In fact, if you’re looking into co-writing with another, check out their guidebook, Together, We Write.) *affiliate link

Speaking of books, as luck would have it, Julie is releasing her third YA novel, Pairing Anton, very soon. So it’s an exciting week for all of us!

Okay, I’ve rattled on enough about Julie, who is, in a word, amazing. I hope you’ll take a moment to stop in the comments and say hello!
